zone "domainB" IN {
type slave;
file "domainB.hosts";
masters "192.168.1.13";
};

Most versions of BIND will assume the IN zone class as the default, but adding it shouldn't hurt. You should also watch the whitespace (ie: spaces between statements) - this holds true for pretty much any configuration file/command. (actually I can't think of a situation where it doesn't apply...)

McLeodnine; thanks for the advise, I'll double check white space, but I am pretty sure all syntax is correct. ty
