simple hardware question

i currently have the following:

internet --------- proxy---------switch --------- client pcs

but my switch is at full capacity. Can I just plug another switch into one of the ports on the existing switch and expand that way?

yes and maybe. Yes, there definately should be a way to chain another switch off the existing one. However, you may not be able to just plug it in. Depends on the type of switches you have and their port configurations. If its a pretty standard setup you may be able to chain the new one off just by connecting it with a crossover ethernet cable.

thanks for the reply. sounds positive. my current switch says I can use patch leads or crossovers and it will adjust automatically. Sounds worth a try to me.

thanks, reetep
