SHUTTLE - NVNET - shutdown problem
hi every body.
the problem we have is a little bit complicated.
I've acquired a SHUTTLEX (SN41)
I've install Knoppix (hard disk install)
Shuttle X use nforce 2 chipset.
So i recompile nvidia nforce drivers for audio (which were working anyway)
and network (which were not working at first time).
after a quick session of parameter (module.conf etc ....)
and /etc/network/interface, network is ok.
the problem we have seams to comes from hardware.
let me explain.
my shuttle is shutdown, unplug from power supply (no cable )
the first time i plug my shuttle and boot it, network is ok.
BUT if i shutdown -h my linux (shuttle is still plugged with power cable)
and restart it, network card is not found and so nvnet doesn't load.
IF i shutdown -h the shuttle and unplug it from power supply (so power cable is unplugged), then i restart it, network card is found.
I'm lost !! ??
Is there any irq problem ?
the BIG QUESTION : why when i shutdown -h my linux and the shuttle is still plugged with cable to power supply, at restart the network card is lost ?
thx for answer (sorry for my english, that's not my native tongue)
