Hey all, I have a rather large problem right now with my Fedora 5 server. I'm pretty sure that its the server and not the network that its on because I've tested all the computers while this problem is occuring with the server and they all work fine. Here's whats happening - every once in a while (seemingly at random) I won't be able to access the server at all. Everything times out, it pretty much goes dead, however it's connectivity lights are still on. Now if your a developer, you can probably get an idea of how irritating this is, and if you host sites then you can probably get an idea of how crucial it is for this to get fixed. I've checked through all of my logs and nothing is strange or out of place. After about 30 seconds, everything goes back to normal. There aren't any abnormal start ups or shutdowns. I'm going to try updating the computer tonight but I have my doubts that will do much good. If anyone has any thoughts I could really use them right now.
That was an interesting thought. I did have this little bittorrent software installed for moving Fedora CD's (just more efficient and with the error checking it seemed to be worth it). I just uninstalled it as well as stopped a couple unnecessary processes. We'll have to see if that works. Thanks for the input!
Well, that wasn't the problem I guess. Actually now its starting to get even worse (either that or I just notice it more). About every 10 minutes or so it'll stop recieving any information, although I tried downloading something and that went through just fine regardless of whether I could get to the server or not. Very puzzling and very frustrating. Any other ideas?
Thats not an inconvienience at all, in fact I was going to try that. The chore however will be finding where I put all my extra cards (I moved locations and everything is scattered all over). I'll gladly let you know what happens.
