sendmail problem stat=User unknown

i am using mdk 10.0
sendmail 8

Oct 7 18:50:00 localhost sendmail[5511]: j97AntBG005511:, ctladdr=apache (74/74), delay=00:00:05, xdelay=00:00:05, mailer=relay, pri=31088, [], dsn=5.7.1, stat=User unknown

why stat=User unknown
,do i need open port 587? coz i block it
