sendmail not receiving emails destined for itself

Hi all,

Currently running Red Hat 7.3

I can get sendmail to send out emails but for some reasons, its not accepting email destined for it.

Example.. lets say its name is mail.somedomain.com

When I use Hotmail send an email to someguy@somedomain.com, it gets bounced back with a message Relaying denied.

I've already added somedomain.com to /etc/mail/sendmail.cw and /etc/mail/local-host-names but to no avail. Also added sendmail : ALL to /etc/hosts.allow

Can anyone here help me solve this problem? I need to set it up by Wednesday or I'm toast

Thx in advance

well, there isn't much in the maillog. It just states that relaying is denied.

Here's the strange part. After diggin around, I added my domain name in the sendmail.mc file. By default, it shows Cwlocalhost.localdomain. So I just changed it to Cwmy_domain_name.com. I ran the m4, restarted sendmail and it works. I don't even need the local-hosts-name in /etc/mail/

See the problem is that I've had no such problems with Red Hat 7.2. Heck, the sendmail.mc in 7.2 is still showing Cwlocalhost.localdomain and yet its still receiving incoming emails. Why is every version different. Kinda frustrating don't u think?

Thx

You mean use the sendmail.mc in 7.2 and replace the one in 7.3?

I'll give it a try tomorrow.

// Note: I'm grafting this to /Networking, IMO I can't see any security-related question, and I gotta clean up more.
