"sbin/route" blocking ip address

Hi,

I have tried to block few PC on LAN with command:
$route add -host xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx reject

It worked with some PC but it did not worked when i tried to block one user IP. All PC are in LAN.

Why i can block some IP and some can't?

the reject option there is *not* for security, you really should not be using it as such. that's why iptables / netfilter exists.
