SBC DSL problem in slackware

ok because more poeple say that i should get slackware i got rid of redhat and installed slackware, i am impressed with it, it got a great gui, better than redhat and mandrake, the theme is cool. but i got a problem, my internet does not work? i tried adsl-setup but like the problem with redhat it did not solve it, in redhat there was a tool called internet manager that did the trick, but it was not there in slackware.
any tips, i followed the adsl-setup, it gets the IP from the ISP but it does not connect to the internet.

thanks

So you can get an IP address, but you can't access any web pages? Can you ping anything?
