Samba sharing with heterogenous networks?

I'm trying to get Samba running on Linux (Fedora 4) so that other machines can access the shares. When I set up the server, the XP machines see the existence of one share, but aren't allowed to actually access it.

How in the world can I fix this?

hav u provided the correct access..

try disabling firewall ..

...i was runnin gud wheni was using it

If the firewall was a problem then the machine wouldn't show up at all from the Windows machine. Check the samba configuration file and with a help of Samba Configuration Guide (search google for one-there are loads out there) and I think you will be ok.
