Samba printer ejecting an extra page

I have just replaced a company's Netware 2.2 box with a Linux Mandrake 8.0 server running samba. Everything works perfectly except for the print queue.

They have an old HP LaserJet 4P connected to the server, whenever a print job gets sent to the print queue using samba it will print the job perfectly and then spit out a blank page.

I have connected the printer directly to the PC and it doesn't eject the extra page, so there is nothing wrong with the printer.

I tested in my office after I set it up before delivery with a Canon BJC-265SP and it didn't eject any extra pages, so it doesn't appear to be the print queue.

I have also captured LPT2 to the print queue and did a 'dir >LPT2', it spat out the extra page.

They only use this printer for single pages, so you can imagine that wasting a page for every print job it annoying.

Hi
I think if you run printtool on the server, and either add or remove send eof from the setup, then restart lpd, your problem should go away.

Actually I just did a search at groups.google.com and I think I found the answer. (I should have searched there first.)

I think I need to add :sf\ to the printcap file.
