A guess...
Do you have "root" privileges when you use the command "ifconfig"?
If you posted more information about your connection problems you would have a better chance of getting an answer that is more than a guess.
In addition, here at LQ, you can't necessarily expect a qualified answer to so open a question, and not in so short a time. Thereafter bumping your post in frustration is not good behavior and won't encourage any more attention.
