Cool router or?

I have my own personal lan up in my room with dhcp running 192.168.1.xxx I (as we speek) installed mandrake on the machine i intend to use as a router (or what ever i need to connect two lans) i have two nics in the machine one with my dhcp 192.168.1.xxx and the other with my dads lan 199.104.100.xxx I want to route packets from my network to my dads network and if possible have network access to my private network via the same cable.

I guess you could call me a newbie, im not very good at setting up networks with linux so all the commands you could give me would be great.
