Currently I connect to the cable modem via our netgear router which is managed just fine through the network config panel, DHCP, automagically get DNS info etc. When I remove the cable from the router and plug straight into the cable modem it then doesn't work. Does anybody have any ideas?
what does it do? i cant remember off hand but wouldn't you need a patch cable to connect directly ratehr than through a router? if you set the ethernet interface to boot to dhcp then the modem will detect thigns no problem. what is the setup of this card? /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
