Rename my Fedora Core 5 box - port fowarding problem

I recently set up a Fedora Core 5 sever. By default it did not get a hostname. It would say 'fatrandy13@asscoo-0-0012049382$' at a prompt (it looked like a random sequence). I think this is causing a port fowarding problem, because i cannot successfully foward any ports to just this computer. Anyway, i edited my /etc/hosts file, now my prompt has a correct hostname, In my router config page, when it shows a list of computers attached to the network, my new fedora box comes up as a blank entry line, with just a local IP address.

How can I rename the computer?

thanks

try adding the HOSTNAME entry in network file

go to /etc/sysconfig/network and add the HOSTNAME value there
