Remote windows connection

Is there a way to remotely control a windows 2000/2003 server using linux like you can from a windows XP workstation using remote desktop?

I am trying to force myself to use linux to help learn it and this is one of my job functions that I dont know how to do in linux so I have to duel boot. I am assuming there is a termial server client for linux out there somewhere.

I am using SUSE 10.0.

Thanks

Hey

Google on VNC (virtual network computing). vnc comes in a few flavours tightvnc, realvnc etc. It is the linux eqiv to nortons pc anywhere. You will have to download a server exe to run as a service on your windows server. Your linux distro should already have a vnc client loaded, if not, download and install via yast or whatever (depending on distro). VNC is small stable, robust and quite secure. Dont forget to add a password to the server after you set it up. Your windows server will have a small applet running in the task bar (bottom right of screen), right click it for options. I use fedora 4 which also comes with a terminal server client which intergrates vnc and has a lot more options than vnc alone. I use it a lot. vnc rocks! Yell if u get stuck.

grdesktop might be what you're after. it's basically the mstsc client allowing you to connect in to windows workstations + servers from your linux box. VNC means you need the extra software on your servers which I wouldn't really recommend, especially if you have them running terminal services in remote admin mode.

rdesktop comes with many distros. It is the same thing as RDP.
