Query about maildir's structure

Hello to all,

I've just started dabbling with virtual email users, and consequently maildir. I used mb2md to do conversion of my mbox. All seemed to have gone well. However since getting Courier-IMAP working, I've noticed a few troubling things that I suspect are related to maildirs and I'm hoping that they can be resolved.

1. All my other folders (Sent, Drafts, and other special folders I'd created were lost in the conversion)
2. My Trash folder gets shown as child node of my Inbox (INBOX.Trash)
3. When I attempt to create a folder, I'm only allowed to create subfolders of Inbox. When I try to create a sibling folder I'm told that the server has responded 'Invalid mailbox name'

How do I go about resolving these issues?

Thank you.
