proxy and client on the same machine??

Hi ,
I want to run the proxy server and client on the same machine so that i can filter out the web content received by the web browser. Please somebody tell me how can i do this. That is, how to configure squid proxy or any [other proxy sever ]such that it can be made to listen to the client running on the same machine and then it fulfills the client's request.I ll worry about the filtering part later ,but please somebody help me at this point.

Thanks in advance!!!

there is no special configuration required to do this. just configure as normal.

actually, tell a lie, by default localhost is allowed carte blanche to everything so if you do want to restrict it, remove the http_access entry for that.

as above there's nothing realy to do, it should work by default. Have you actually tried it at all?
