ProxMox and WiFi
You're supposed to have your machine plugged in via Ethernet when you install ProxMox. Not really convenient for me. All I have available is wifi. It is apparently Debian based, but nowhere near a full install.
lspci -nnk | grep Network returns:
05:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation Wireless 3165 [8006:3165] (rev 79)
ip a returns for my wireless:
3: wlp5s0: <NO-CARRIER,BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP> mtu 1500 qdisc noqueue state DOWN group default qlen 1000
ifup wlp5s0 returns immediately with no errors, but I am still not connected.
In /etc/network/interfaces I have the following entry:
iface wlp5s0 inet dhcp
wpa-ssid <SSID>
wpa-psk <password>
** Note: <SSID> and <password> are placeholders for the actual values, because...
ifconfig, iwconfig, nmcli aren't available.
I am able to download files and transfer via USB drive. Relearned the how to mount a drive thing. Well, at least a part of it.
My questions:
What do I need to install to make the wifi work?
---- wpa_supplicant, nmcli?
Where can I find the files, as well as all of their dependencies?
Having the files and their dependencies, can I use apt to do the install?
Thank you for the help.
