problems with 2 pcmcia network cards

I have a MiTac 6020 series laptop that I am using as a router.

The beast doesn't have an onboard nic so I am using 2 pcmcia cards an older 10mbs network card (dunno what it is exactly but it works!) and an enterasys roamabout wireless card.

The problem I have is that when I boot the laptop, thankfully not that often being a router, it seems to swap them about.

ie. sometimes the wireless card comes up as eth0 and the cabled one as eth1 and other times the otherway around. as far as I know they are both still working ok but as I only have 2 machines running at the moment and a dial up account, its a bit hard to tell.

my question is: is there anyway to force pcmcia to load the cards in a particular order?

any help would be good!!

edit /etc/modules.conf

add lines like....

alias eth0 xxxx
alias eth1 yyyy

where xxxx & yyyy are your pcmcia driver names
