hi every one
I am new user of Linux. Installed FC4 couple a days ago. Have problem installing ethereal.
yum gives this response.

Looks like the ethereal is not in the repos you setup. Search around here for additional repos others are using. Then check to see if ethereal is in one of those.

nope, looks like ethereal is actaully already installed....

maybe you're expecting the whole gui thang? you want ethereal-gnome as well then. ethereal is such a powerful tool for packet sniffing it seems foolish to insist that for low level network analysis you have to have gnome installed. as such the front and back ends are often hacked apart for the best of both worlds.

yup u were right some how ethereal was installed .I removed it now. But don't know how to install all the packages those are needed. I mean with GUI , and one more thing I have gnome installed.

as i already said, you need ethereal-gnome as well as ethereal, both are in yum / apt
