Need help forwarding certain ports to host a private server... please help!
I'm going to be hosting a Ragnarok Online server, but im behind a router, and to be able to host it using one computer i have to forward some ports, i am at the proper site for a linksys router, i just need to know which ones to open to i can host a private server, i supposedly need TCP/IP to do it, i dont know what that is, please help me out >_<
i dont know Its a server that i will be hosting, i just need my ports to be opened so that other people can upload the info from me TCP/IP? idk, prolly FTP T_T i just need to know which one(s) need to be forwarded so that i can allow other people to upload from me... sorry i dont know
prolly FTP ??
myabe it is proftpd. u dont know what u want to do. if u had known about network, we could help u more.
allright lets try!
when u r root type :
/sbin/ifconfig
/sbin/route -n
/sbin/iptables -nvL
/sbin/iptables -t nat -nvL
commands and post the output here. so we can help u more.
u want me to do that for u? http://192.168.1.1 ??? r u kidding :-D
u must learn more about network. i cant reach that network. cos it is private network. these type of networks never used in internet. so i dont have any chance to reach http://192.168.1.1 also your linksys router will block http requests come from internet, cause of security.
TCP/IP includes both of udp and tcp. these port numbers is speacial. u r using speacial program as i understand. so they must give u what port and what number.
i dont know what is spor and what port(s) is used by it. if u have to run lots of programs and u dont know what the ports are necessary to forward. u can define your server ip as DMZ in router configuration. so roter will send all type of port connections to your local server. all of UDP, TCP and ICMP if it supports. actually i dont know if your router support this DMZ option. i have zoom x4, it supports this option.
