I recently became the proud owner of a HP Designjet Colorpro CAD. I hooked it up to my Fedora 8 server and fist picke the recommended driver, HPIJS. The test page that came out looked liked a big stretch so I switched to Gutenprint-ijs with foomatic.
Printing to this printer works fine from the server (some color adjustments to be done later). I added this printer to SMB config and now also the printing of text documents to my printer from within my network (XP Laptop) works as advertised.
Th main reason for this printer is to print Photo's from Photoshop to A3 format, but I have not been able to print ANY image frm my XP laptop to my printer.
Is this a CUPS, SAMBA or GUTENPRINT problem?? and how do I fix this.
The last time I had image printing issues with the foomatic driver (some image formats not printed), I had to upgrade ghostscript. I downloaded the most recent version, and compiled it from source.

You might try that...
Running gs 8.61
This is the latest stable (I think)
I cannot print ANY image format / application from windows.
Hmm, strange the native drivers don't work. Is it possible you could test to see if it will work across a network between two windows machines? Set it up as a shared printer on one windows box and then try to print from the other. Maybe the drivers just don't like working across a network. It seems unlikely though, since cups is working okay locally.
Which drivers have you tried using on the windows machines (CUPS postscript? Adobe postscript?). I really can;t think of a reason why local printing would work, and network should fail if you're using post script drivers. Sorry.
