Printer Won't Print From Windows
I am trying to set up an HP 3650 Printer. In Fedora, I can print with no problem. I have printed both a CUPS and Postscript test page from Webmin. I first tried samba, and got a bunch of problems. So, here is what I tried now. I created a new Postscript local printer and set up a new TCP port. It "connects" to the printer and let's me send files to it. But, they never reach the printer. They end up in the /var/spool/CUPS. I can open these files up and print out what they say if that would help.
I read to edit mime.types file and commented out:
application/octet-stream
Also edited mimes.convs file and commented out:
application/octet-stream application/vnd.cups-raw 0 -
I am also wondering if i should still be using CUPS. In the port printer settings in windows, it talks about the LPR protocol and LPR queue name. I don't know much else about printers in linux. Any help would be great. Thanks.
