ppp not showing IP

HI all...
i have a problem here... i have checked pppd running on my linux PC where there is kernel support for PPP..i ran the ppp server like this..
/usr/sbin/pppd -d debug remote IP:local IP noauth nodetach 38400
where remote IP is my systems IP and local IP is the IP to be assigned to the PC which will connect to my PC(say a windows xp which used dial up connection and dials my phone number).. so when i ping on the other PC it is getting the local IP what is have given to him.... everything was fine.. but the same code when i ran on the eval board IT IS NOT WORKING.... which is cross compiled for ppc and also there is kernel support for ppp... it is giving like this..

sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0x4c92def> <pcomp> <accomp>]
