Port question!


On my debian box i have ventrilo server /web server / ftp up. All those applications only work on a certain local ip.(for instance 198.168.1.2-4 works fine) but when my dhcp assigns my box 198.168.1.5 it does not work~ btw. i port forward 198.168.1.5 but it does not work~ somebody please help

couldn't you just set up the servers not to do that? surely you could chsnge the allowed IPs?

if you simply want to make sure you get the IP, you can configure DHCPD to give you the same one, by giving it a note of your MAC address or hostname. Webmin does this very nicely.
