Question Port manipulation in rh 9


Hey!!

Does anyone know how to open a specific port (udp or tcp) in redhat 9. I dont have a router only a cable modem and when i tried to use xchat it said it uses identd on port 113 and wants me to open it. HOW???

Check the firewall setup in Redhat. It's probably blocking the port.

Yes thats exactly it i checked the firewall output and it is blocking 113 but how do you tell the firewall to open that ????
