I'm wondering if we can go back to square one for a moment. I would like to understand some things that are not clear.

Eth0 - can you tell me what the symptoms for it are? No IP address? Or is there some other issue with it?

Eth1 - It is not getting an IP address.

Why have you got two nic's in the system?

The configuration for your nic(s) should be in a file called:

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 IF Pclos is laid out the same as Mandriva. I would bet it is. If not, try to find the files ifcfg-eth0 and 1 and have a look to see what the wizard has put in the files. As I said earlier, I don't trust the wizards.

hey cliff, simpler than we thought bubba.

when I was unplugging the modem to clear the memory to hook into other pc ( no router yet) it was malfunctioning. got a new cable modem, and walla, just clear memory in modem before I swap it to other machine and it works like a charm.

I swear it's always the simple things that bite the hardest. lol

But I do thank you for your time and attention to my problem. I appreciate that very much, and If I can ever find a way to be of assistance, feel free to let me know what i can do.

Be Well,
Big Bear

Great to hear it is going. You are right, it is usually the simple things we don't expect that give us the most trouble....
