Packet forwarding with Mandrake 9.2

So I recently upgraded from Mandrake 8.2 to Mandrake 9.2 for my general purpose server/workstation and my packet forwarding from my modem isn't working anymore. Here is the information that I have. The network card works, but only when the modem isn't connected. The modem will dial and say it's connected but the computer won't realize that is it connected while the network card is running. I have a Realtek 8139 network card and an old ISA com port based modem. This has worked great in past versions, if you have any suggestions or need more information just speak up. There isn't much I can do to screw up my computer.

it sounds as if your routes aren't being changes when the modem comes up. If your modem is your only connection to the outside world (Internet), I might remove the default gateway on the nic. Just an idea.

That worked for fixing the modem/nic conflict. Is there anyway to turn on the packet forwarding without going into the wizard and it screwing up all my settings?

I'm not sure, it's been a while since I've used dail-up. But, if you're connecting via a modem anyways, the default route on the nic isn't important.

Actually, I just remembered something. I remember having to tweak the ifup scripts in order to dynamically change my route once I connected via dialup. Sorry though, I can't remember where they are on Mandrake though. I haven't used that system in over a year. Hope that helps some

I have some log entries that my computer made. One is the system log and the other is what the terminal output was when I ran Mandrake Control Center. It's a bit much to read but it may help. I installed the 2.6 kernal when I upgraded my computer from MDK 8.2 to MDK 9.2 another error I got in the wizard it self. The error was: "Potential LAN address conflict found in current config of eth0.mdk_org1!". I don't know if anyone can help but if you can it would be much appreciated.

Errors in the Mandrake Control Center terminal
