we use a proxy server on our LAN to connect to the internet
priorly they blocked certain DNS names and we were still able to connect to the server's IP address and our job was going well , then they have made some sufficient things so that squid returns with college site when a GET requst ends in .avi|.wmv|... a video file . These video files are generally movie files of nearly 100MB in size.. and if I connect to a outside proxy server most of them limit downloads to 10MB max.. the only way I know to resolve this is use a proxy server of my own which has registered ip address and then connect to that first and movie link next.. but i couldn't afford that and neither i know any of my friends who have one ( all are put up in similar colls with private LANs !!!) ...
so could any one plzzz show me a way out... and thnx for the same...
