macbuntu!!!

Posted 08-27-2009 at 03:32 AM by theacerguy

for thoise who love the style of mac but cannot afford one there is a way to make ubuntu 9.04 mac!!!
just follow the guide @ http://maketecheasier.com/turn-your-...ard/2008/07/23
but some bits will not work to do the fonts just extract the archive into ~/.fonts (create if doesnt exist) and reboot to install globalmenu: Edit the sources.list:

$ sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Add the globalmenu repo lines:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/globalmenu-team/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main

deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/globalmenu-team/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main

Download and enable the GPG key

$ wget http://gnome2-globalmenu.googlecode....balMenuKey.gpg && sudo apt-key add GlobalMenuKey.gpg

Update the software list and install the globalmenu:

$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install gnome-globalmenu
then do apt-get remove --purge globalmenu*
and apt-get install gnome-globalmenu
i dont know why you have to do the last 2 bits but otherwise it doesnt work
the usplash bit doesnt work because it is for hardy not jaunty...
and the grub bit will not work at first install kgrubeditor and it will work
oh i just found it 4 intrepid...
it is @ http://maketecheasier.com/turn-your-...ard/2009/01/08
