OpenSwan vs FreeSwan & Novell

Hi all,

With all Novell acquisitions in the last year, and all sponsored project, I would like to get status of ipsec and Novell (well, in general also..)

Freeswan is dead, we all know that.
OpenSwan seems to be alive, and sponsored by Novell.

And there is also OpenVPN that seems to be great.

With the latest release of SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9, Novell stills included Freeswan, and not OpenSwan......

What is going on ? Which one should we use ???

Also, what's the difference between OpenVPN & OpenSwan ? I know that openvpn is based on openswan/freeswan, but what it will give me more ?

Thanks all

OpenVPN is, afaik, not based on openswan.. it's a totally different approach.
It has some major advantages on the other solutions, check out the website to find out more.

http://openvpn.sourceforge.net/

Cheers!
