Unhappy online backup storage

hi there,

i am trying to provide a storage service to some clients who need offsite data storage.

the setup is not quite different from what is obtained by online vendors who do data storage/encryption/retrieval/backup services like www.remote-backup.com.

what i am trying to do is do a scale up (scale down) linux version of this since costs could be overweighing. i want to have two well equipped servers running linux OS with like 500gig each with raid (supposedly) and mirrored as well to have redundancy. now i have a fibre backhaul to my site where these 2 servers will be located. Now i want a situation whereby the clients pay for space and they are allocated a client software for their IT admin and also some remote compatible software for any local or remote server they want the files inside them to be backed up.

then thru the client software the admin has, he can easily use to transfer and schedule a backup to their space on my servers at any time of the day and has scheduled.

and also he can be able to perform retrieval at his own from my servers to his site back.

i think i ll need some form of encryption probably 128/256 bit AES/ some firewall or control of sort on my server to verify that the right pple are accessing the right stuffs on my server.

if anyone has done anything close to this or has an idea towards them, i dont mind having some clues. i am sure if i can get the client software for both linux and windows based system particularly for windows.

i ll value ur responses

thanks

D.

I've never used this before but I was looking for something similar at one point and found both of these that looked promising:
