Nothing happens when I run /sbin/route -n

Little history,

I am in the process of setting up a pair of boxes to run CIPE for an network to network tunnel.

I got the CIPE connection working but have not been able to route beyond the two machines.

Last night I setup iptables with rules that seemed like they would work and shut down the machines and went home.

So this morning when I brought the two machines up and typed

/sbin/route -n

and it returned to the prompt quickly without any response.

I disabled iptables and it still does not work.
