Newbie wants the internet to work on Redhat 9.0...

Hey folks.

So, I've been dabbling in linux and got myself a copy of Redhat 9.0. I installed it on an old computer that didn't have Ethernet capabilities, and so had to go get a network card.

I'm having an impossible time trying to get the card to work.

After rebooting the computer, linux failed to pick up the card.

The instructions that came with the driver (which tells me compile a file called tulip.c) were obviously meant for an older version of Redhat, and no longer work.

If someone knows where I can go to find better installation instructions for my card, I'd appreciate it.

OS: Redhat 9.0 Professional
Card: Linksys Network Everywhere NC100U

Hello!

Just have a look in the kernel source, if the card is supported or not.

Greetings

You can probably load tulip as a module. Add the following line to your /etc/modules.conf (or conf.modules):
alias eth0 tulip
