NetworkManager Applet does not show available eth0

Hi Folks,

NetworkManager Applet v. 1.32 from XFCE4 4.18 does not see the Ethernet interface: No network connection

ipconfig eth0 shows:

Code:
2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP qlen 1000
    link/ether 00:26:6c:3e:7f:38 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
    inet 192.168.1.3/24 scope global eth0
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
    inet6 fe80::226:6cff:fe3e:7f38/64 scope link
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
and

Code:
nmcli d
DEVICE TYPE STATE CONNECTION
lo loopback connected (externally) lo
wlan0 wifi unavailable --
eth0 ethernet unmanaged --
I tried to change the managed to true

Code:
nmcli d set eth0 managed yes
and still shows "unmanaged"

I created a New Connection Type (Ethernet) in NetworkManager Applet OK but still does not shows as available.
I reinstalled the applet but no changes.

Code:
inxi -n
Network:
Device-1: Realtek RTL810xE PCI Express Fast Ethernet driver: r8169
IF: eth0 state: up speed: 100 Mbps duplex: full mac: 00:26:6c:3e:7f:38
  Device-2: Realtek RTL8191SEvB Wireless LAN driver: rtl8192se
IF: wlan0 state: down mac: 56:a6:16:67:04:f8
UPDATE:
Somehow eth0 is available now.
Code:
[ifupdown]
managed=false
added in NetworkManager
Now NM shows 2 available interfaces: eth0 and ifupdown. I can connect to both. Also:
Code:
nmcli d
DEVICE TYPE STATE CONNECTION
eth0 ethernet connected eth0
lo loopback connected (externally) lo
wlan0 wifi unavailable

Thanks!

Disable network-manager and connect via cli has always worked for me at work & home.
Only re-enable network-manager when traveling and staying at hotels with wifi, etc.
