I have the following set up:

Computer 1
Linux (Ubuntu 9.04)desktop
AMD 2400+
wired to Belkin wireless router

Computer 2
Vista desktop
iCore 7
wired to Belkin wireless router

Computer 3
XP laptop
wireless to Belkin router

I also have an HP OfficeJet J6480 wireless printer.

I can print from all of my machines and can share files (that is after I fix whatever I broke when experimenting )
I usually have no problems printing or sharing files. It took me about half a day to get everything working right (I'm a complete newbie to Linux and networking, and I had just got the Vista machine).

I think the easiest way is to get a wireless printer. If this is not an option, I think you'll have to add a wireless card to computer 2. Insure you enable print sharing on the box that has the printer hooked up.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

woa ! that's a very expensive solution !
hi my friend,
u dont need to use any linux configs , microsoft windows can do ur problem .
so my solution is based on windows :
u just configure ur windows xp to be part of workgroup ( u can google to find a tut for it )
after that share ur printer that is already connected via xp
and go to ur vista and join it with workgroup name that u've selected for xp .
and go to printer section of control panel of vista and add a network printer .
ur linux has no business here in solution
(i presumed that u configured ur adsl router as NAT based network and u know how to add these three machines in a same subnet )

Try this...

Easiest solution would be to move the printer and connect it via cable to your linux box. Then share it out via samaba. Put the wireless card in computer 2 (which USED to have the printer connected).

This will allow you to print from your linux box AND your windoze machines via wireless.
