So, I am searching for an open source software apart from spacewalk that can install a software or a patch in all the systems that are under my network simultaneously.
I am not familiar with any particular package that will do that, but there is this wonderful thing called scripting, you could write a script that logs on to each computer and runs the install of a patch or software from a network location or runs a command like apt-get upgrade or apt-get install somesoftwareIwant.
It might help to indicate which Linux distribution you plan on installing. A general solution is to use cfengine.
If you will be installing a commercial distribution such as Red Hat's RHEL or Novell's SLED they will have their own solutions.
Another general solution is Puppet.
