Question Network eth0 activated upon boot in ifcfg-eth0; but no network connection after login

Since one day I have lost my ethernet connection. In the ifcfg-eth0 file the onboot=yes. After starting my Linux mandriva 2010 free) all my network connections are off. I can connect them again with the Mandriva Linux Control center but after reboot the connection is lost again.

DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
ONBOOT=yes
METRIC=10
MII_NOT_SUPPORTED=no
USERCTL=yes
RESOLV_MODS=no
IPV6INIT=no
IPV6TO4INIT=no
ACCOUNTING=yes
DHCP_CLIENT=dhclient
NEEDHOSTNAME=no
PEERDNS=yes
PEERYP=yes
PEERNTPD=no

Regards, Tom

I have found the solution for this problem. While waiting for an answer on this forum I tried to do some maintenance with webmin. I could not start it. It seemed that my rpm database was locked.
After removing the locks with

# rm -f "/var/lib/urpmi/.LOCK"
# rm -f "/var/lib/urpmi/.RPMLOCK"

and killing a process that remained the database to be locked, my whole system recovered.
And also the network connections remained active after reboot.

Strange phenomenon isn't it!

Problem solved!
