Network connection fails in VM guest

I am new to Linux

I am using ubuntu 9.04 64 bit version in the host machine. I have created a VMWare image with same ubuntu 9.04. Network connection is not getting established in the VMWare guest though the host has the proper connection. I am not able to ping from host to guest and guest to host as well.

I am using bridged network.

If I restart the router the network connection is getting established properly in VMWare guest.
VMware-server-2.0.1-156745
I checked with ubuntu 8.01. But this is not happening in 8.01

Can some body help me to sort out this problem.

I am using VMware-server-2.0.1-156745 64 bit version.

Thanks in advance.

Wink Network establish in vmware

You can try these things

1.you can restart the network service

/etc/init.d/network restart

2.You check the ip address, subnet mask of the host and set this manually in ubuntu and check.

r u getting the ip info manually or from DHCP.

Thanks for the reply !!!

1) Is there any way to get he network connection without restarting the network service. Because it will not be possible to do the restart everytime i start the VM guest.

2) IP is DHCP assigned

Thanks
