I try to enable wireless system in my dell vostro1510 laptop. The wireless is DellWireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini Card Rev2.0, chipset BCM4328 (broadcom). I follow the advice from internet by http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/red...iswrapper.html.

I downloaded the 1.55 version ndiswrapper from http://sourceforge.net/projects/ndis.../files/stable/

untar it and type "make install"
it gave me error as below:

[root@circuit ndiswrapper-1.55]# ls

make: *** [install] Error 2
[root@circuit ndiswrapper-1.55]#

Note: I kernel version is 2.6.28, which someone compiling for me.. I have no idea how the compiling work. I just want to make my wireless work in linux environment. I also downloaded the dell wireless driver (window).

Hello and welcome to LinuxQuestions,

Looks like you have no compiler installed. What distro are you using?

Kind regards,

Eric

Hi,

That's your distro (Linux Distribution): CentOS 5.2.

Open a terminal and type:
Code:
which gcc
If you get no output then you'll have to install the gcc compiler. I don't have experience with CentOS but I think you should run something like:
Code:
yum install gcc
to install it.

Also did you run './configure' and 'make' before running make install? and were there any errors on those?

Then try compiling again.

Kind regards,

Eric

Yeah, you are right.
I have to install gcc. May I know from which package.
Note: Centos is equivalent to RHEL.

Thank you very much
