MySQL init script

Hi

I deleted everything that had to with mysql, including the init script for MySQL, because i was having problems with the databases not being deleted after uninstallation of MySQL. After i found out that the databases were in the /var directory i realized that it never was necessary to remove anything else but the databases, but i didnt know that at the time i deleted every file that had anything to do with MySQL.

I have searched the forums here and looked on the net for a copy of the mysql init script, but simply cant find it. I have tried to use "mysqld", but it just doesnt work and yes i have had a look at the documentation.

What im interested in is, how do i get the mysql init script back when i dont get it back when i reinstall the mysql database server?

The init script is probably tied to your distro. It might be nice if you could tell us what that is.
