Hello. First of all I have to tell you this is a first time in my live installing MySql so Im pretty dumb in it. But If you could give me and advise. I installed MySql in following steps. First downloaded rpm MySQL-3.23.49a-1 and installed it. After that I created a user mysql. Than I created a folder in /home/msql scrpits. Than I did
/home/msql/scripts/mysql_install_db and it went just fine...thats the message that come after it :

Installing all prepared tables
020412 13:16:48 /usr/sbin/mysqld: Shutdown Complete
To start mysqld at boot time you have to copy support-files/mysql.server
to the right place for your system
PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
This is done with:
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root -p password 'new-password'
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h localdomain.localdomain -p password 'new-password'

NOTE: If you are upgrading from a MySQL <= 3.22.10 you should run
the /usr/bin/mysql_fix_privilege_tables. Otherwise you will not be
able to use the new GRANT command!
You can start the MySQL daemon with:
cd / ; /usr/bin/safe_mysqld &
You can test the MySQL daemon with the benchmarks in the 'sql-bench' directory:
cd sql-bench ; run-all-tests
Please report any problems with the /usr/bin/mysqlbug script!

Now I heard that there is a sample database called test internal database. When I typed in mysql I'm getting following message:[root@localdomain /]# mysql
bash: /usr/bin/mysql: No such file or directory
There is no such a thing in /usr/local/mysql .....
I dont know what is wrong with it. Please help me out/

I did chkconfig --list and mysql is listed there and seemd to be on:mysql 0
