My cisco wireless card won't allow port 80

The card is an AIR-CB21AG-A-K9 cisco systems wifi card. its weird. when i use it, it doesn't allow me to use port 80, aka normal web viewing through a web browser. I try 443 (https) and it works fine. I get connection to aim through pidgin, i can download via transmission, if can ping the living hell out of google, but I can not browse on port 80. sorry this isn't really descriptive, its early and i'm clueless. if you have an idea, please reply.

I don' have another card to use or the 50USD to go out and pick up one to to compare with. anyone think that its just the card showing that it shat itself and went quietly into the night?

So you can't get out to port 80 on another machine? Sounds like a firewall somewhere. Can you get out on that port using another machine on the same router? If so, check to see if the router isn't filtering port 80. Otherwise, it's probably on the local machine. See if iptables is blocking outbound traffic on that port.

Try accessing port 80 on google's site:
Code:
$ telnet www.google.com 80
Trying 72.14.205.99...
Connected to www.google.com.
Escape character is '^]'.
If this fails, then something is blocking port 80 outbound from your site.
