hi
i have a 3com 905b ethernet card which is working fine with linux.Well i have adsl now and my isp gave me an alcatel modem (Speet touch home)
to connect my ethernet card on.
Well...I asked my isp how they connect to adsl 3 times and they answer me different things.the one answer was PPPoA and 2 was PPPoE
They tols me that they use DHCP.
In alcatel website the Key features for my modem are :Connects to your PC/LAN via Ethernet or ATMF(optional).
LAN interfaces: 10Base T (RJ45) and ATMF-25 (RJ45).
WAN interfaces: ADSL line RJ11.
POTS interface: RJ11 via optional POTS splitter.
"Always on" (bridged) and dial-up (PPP) modes.
Complies to ADSL standards (ANSI T1.413 Issue2, G.dmt, G.lite, G.handshake).
Connection speed: up to 8 Mbps downstream, 800 Kbps upstream.
Platform independent.
I ask now how can i configure my modem in linux with PPPoE or PPPoX?
