mount: RPC: timed out
I have a server with FC5 on it and a workstation that dual boots WinXP and Kubuntu 6.06. The server has a static IP and static DNS servers (got them from Verizon) and all was fine. I lost my internet connection and both Linux and XP lost the ability to access the server. I changed the DNS servers from the ones that I got from Verizon to the IP of the router and now XP can access the server but I can not get Linux to mount the shares; when I try I get:
Code:
mount: RPC: timed out
Any idea why losing the internet connection would affect Linux like this?

I am using nfs. I have an entry in fstab that worked fine until I lost the internet connection so I tried it as:
Code:
mount -a
And that is when I got the error. I do not think that I have tried using the IP address; I am not at home so I will not be able to try that for a few hours but I will give it a shot.
