Make Samba stop asking for password

Hello.
I have some shares that automatically mount when Linux boots but it always asks for a password, like

Mounting network filesystems...
Password:

I never set a password. I can get past this if I just press Enter and the shares get mounted fine. So... how do I get it to stop showing Password: ?

From "man smbclient":
Quote:
-N If specified, this parameter suppresses the normal password prompt from the client to the user.
This is useful when accessing a service that does not require a password.

Unless a password is specified on the command line or this parameter is specified, the client
will request a password.
If you are doing it from fstab then try just specifying a blank password in the options field.

that is true, if you are using the smbmount program and added it to your startup scripts rc.local for instance just add at the end of the line -U username%password exchanging username and password with the relevant username and password

oops didnt see that last post sorry :P
