Log file

Hello
,

I have many entries like the following in my LogWatch.

dovecot-auth: pam_succeed_if: requirement "uid < 100" not met by user

How can I prevent these entries to be reported in this file?

Regards,

macadam

Hi,

This message is generated by the following entry (or alike) in your /etc/pam.d/system-auth:

account sufficient /lib/security/$ISA/pam_succeed_if.so uid < 100 quiet

If the quiet on the end is missing in your entry: add it.

You could try removing the entry altogether, but this could lead to strange login behaviour (especially for root under RH/FC). I'm not running either and do not have that entry present. Up untill now I don't have any strange things going on without it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the answer.

Unfortunately, I have added the 'quiet' but the log is still being populated with this line everytime a mail client logs in...
