Are you replying to my signature file ?? That's what it sounds like to me. The only reponse I made was that I moved your thread to this forum in the small italics.
I have bee a microsoft advocate for many years now and after my recent experiences with linux am afraid I remain so. Microsoft internet connection sharing is a very simple facility to use, a few clicks of the mouse, browse the help files - if you're a complete newbie - and off you pop. There is vritually nothing to go wrong and in the unlikely event that you do get problems, there is a mass of information and people to assist you. Not so I have found with Linux, I have come to find the reference resources and notes with the OS sadly lacking, particularly when it comes to fault finding with networking issues and the expert community even more so.
If you have a linux Guru living next door, then you are luckier than most, and I suggest you capitalise on the opportunity. Otherwise, stick with Bill, he hasn't made all that money from ignoring the requirements of the ignorant.
