i am currently running a novell server and i want to UPgrade to linux. all the clients are running novell client. is this going to be a problem. i am thinking about a samba server thanks for your time
I haven't used Novell for a few years, but from what I remember the clients still requires an OS. If you're talking about DOS or Windows, seems to me it would be easier to just use the normal Microsoft NT clients to connect to samba.
Linux does have IPX support which is the protocol that Novell uses. I've never tried it, nor do I know how effective it is. I'd suggest setting up a test server and see if it suits your needs.
