linux remote shutdown from win

Hi,
I have a UPS connected to a Win2k d.c.: on power failure the UPS manager execute a batch file to shutdown the other servers first and itself finally.
I need to shutdown a server linux (Red Hat 7.3) too, but I don't know how.
Could someone help me????

SSH to the Linux box, log in as yourself and execute halt or shutdown -h now. If you don't have the permissions to shut down the box you may have to use su -c halt or su -c "shutdown -h now". You could use an expect script to take care of this.

the problem is not the shutdown without permission, but to have an unattended ssh connection; I'm using ssh secure shell and I don't find how to connect without type password; is there a configuration file or another way to do it?

I don't know much about keys but what about using them to log into the linux box rather than a password. I believe you can configure your pam sshd module for this. Can't help you more though
